THE WALKMAN
Ivan and Stefan were very good friends. They always went home together from school each day. They talked all the time about hobbies-football, swimming and pop music. Last month, Ivan's mother gave him a cassette player for his birthday. Ivan spent lots of his money on the latest pop music. Stefan also wanted to have a cassette recorder. His birthday was a long way off but he hoped to get one then.
As the boys were walking home one day, They saw a Sony walkman lying on the ground. There was no one near it. The boys did not know who it belonged to. Then Stefan found a box near the walkman but it had no name on it. He said to Ivan "who has left a new walkman on the road?" "someone
has lost it "said Ivan. "we must go and give it to the police, "said Stefan. The boys first of all went home to tell their parents about the new walkman. Stefan's mother went with them to give the police the news.
The policeman was very pleased. "oh", he said. "That is very good news. only a few minutes ago, a young lady came here and said she could not find her walkman. I will tell her the good news." So the young lady got her walkman back.... and later Stefan hopes to get one for his birthday.
