My pet dog

My dog is called Blackie because he is black. My parents gave him to me last summer
so that I could play with him during my holidays. Now I love him so much that
I can't live without him.
He waits for me at the front door when I come home from school. Everywhere I go,
he wants to come with me. I often take him with me on picnics and he plays with my friends, too.
When I am happy, I can see that he is happy, too.

He loves the garden and spends hours burying and digging up bones, but he sometimes
digs up plants or vegetables which my father has just planted. Of course, this makes
my father very angry.

Blackie makes life fun for me. I love taking him for walks in the park. The only times I don't like
going out are when it is raining but Blackie enjoys the rain. He splashes through all the puddles
and comes home so dirty that I have to give him a bath. Just like a naughty child!

How do you celebrate Easter in Greece?

Easter is celebrated in a very special way in my country. People go to church every evening
during Passion Week. On Saturday night at 12 o'clock church bells ring to announce
that Christ is risen.
At that moment children let off fireworks, people crack their Easter eggs together and everyone
goes home to enjoy the special food which has been prepared for the occasion.

Easter Sunday is really great. In almost every neighbourhood, especially in towns and villages,
you see lambs being roasted on spits. All the members of the families are there singing,
dancing and drinking of course. It’s really wonderful.
